Biography
Robert Fontaine is a blockchain and digital transformation expert with over 15 years of international experience across Web3, fintech, and large-scale digital ecosystems. He currently contributes to the development of decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructure at ADI Foundation in Abu Dhabi, supporting the creation of enterprise-grade blockchain solutions designed for global adoption.
He has worked with leading financial institutions and blockchain ecosystems, including Groupe Crédit Agricole and Tezos, where he played a key role in advancing digital asset adoption and scaling blockchain operations. Alongside his industry work, Robert is an experienced lecturer, teaching blockchain, digital assets, and emerging technologies with a strong focus on real-world applications.
Earlier in his career, he led digital transformation and smart city initiatives across Europe and international markets. He also has a unique background as an international chess grandmaster, bringing a strong analytical and strategic mindset to both his professional and academic work.

Robert has also been deeply involved in the growth of the Tezos ecosystem, where he held leadership and operational roles across multiple entities. His contributions supported the scaling of one of the most prominent blockchain networks, combining strategic, operational, and community-building expertise.
In parallel, he co-founded Raremind, a Web3 venture integrating blockchain into digital gaming environments, where he led product development, fundraising, and team building—demonstrating his entrepreneurial and innovation-driven mindset.
Earlier in his career, he led international digital transformation and smart city projects across Switzerland, Europe, and emerging markets. His experience includes managing complex go-to-market strategies, cross-functional teams, and large-scale deployments across multiple countries.
